Elevate Northern Michigan: A Youth Mental Health Summit Series for Young Leaders (and Those Who Love Them)

MAY 2024 UPDATE: THE ELEVATE SUMMIT SERIES HAS BEEN SUNSET

Elevate Northern Michigan is a bi-annual summit series focused on boosting knowledge, shifting attitudes, decreasing stigma, and building support for youth mental health by learning about:

  1. behavioral health science
  2. practical well-being tools
  3. leadership skills

I hope that aspiring youth leaders leave this summit with a better understanding of the skills required to project their voice and tackle systemic change with the youthful determination that makes their advocacy so unique to begin with.

— Will Unger, We Fight leadership team member and Central High School student

All are welcome at the summit, especially young leaders – and those who love them.

Our fifth Summit will be held from 1-2:30 PM on Wednesday, November 29th, at Northwestern Michigan College’s Innovation Center.

We Fight is grateful for United Way of Northwest Michigan and NMC’s support and sponsorship of Elevate Northern Michigan.

If your Northern Michigan school is interested in sending students to the Summit, please let us know at ty@goodworkslab.org, and we’ll hold seats for you.

Co-Creation & Co-Ownership

Co-creation and co-ownership are values of We Fight — let’s build Elevate Northern Michigan together.

Help us choose topics — everyone is welcome to weigh in. However, more weight will be given to our young leaders aged 16-24 years.

Join We Fight

We Fight is a self-organizing, citizen-led network guided by the Surgeon General’s recent advisory with one agenda and one agenda only: to better protect our Northern Michigan kids’ mental health.

We’re here to connect and support the many good things happening in Northern Michigan.

We’re here to fill gaps, strengthen weak links, grow community awareness and build political will with our partners. We’re here to convene conversations and tell stories to foster strong relationships built on trust and respect.

We’re here because we care.

We’re here to fight for our kids.

We need you.
