After two outstanding workshops with the FrameWorks Institute, we’re excited to launch Everyone A Changemaker Northern Michigan – a community of monthly workshops to boost knowledge, shift attitudes, and build support for social change in this amazing place we call home.
These workshops are for advocates and citizen changemakers in Northern Michigan.
Led by local experts in topic areas relevant to all of us and informed by the work done with FrameWorks, these workshops help us to effectively communicate about issues that matter.
In short, it’s the social science of communication choices made. About elements put in and elements left out. These choices have a significant effect on how our messages are received.
These strategic framing choices can boost public knowledge, shift attitudes, and build support for social change.
Workshops are held monthly at Northwestern Michigan College’s Innovation Center (2nd Thursday of the month at 11-12p).
- Reframing Gun Violence with Kelly Hirko, September 8th
- Reframing Climate with Liv Rollinger, October 13th
- Reframing Youth Substance Use with Paula Lipinski, November 10th
- Reframing School Safety with Jay Berger, December 8th
- Reframing Housing with Yarrow Brown, February 9th
