After our Youth Team Chair, Will Unger, presented at Traverse City’s Human Rights Commission last month, I asked if they’d consider a resolution making May “Youth Mental Health Awareness Month.”
The Human Rights Commission discussed and approved this resolution on Monday.

As we take steps toward a northern Michigan where everyone plays a role in protecting our kids’ mental health, public resolutions like tonight’s are essential.
Resolutions that resolve to do better.
Resolutions that are determined and purposeful.
