Ty Curtis to Speak at Elevate Northern Michigan Mental Health Summit #3

Ty Curtis LMSW is passionate about helping young people remove the mental and emotional barriers holding them back from leading more successful and fulfilling lives.

He is an LMSW practicing in Traverse City since 2007, and in that time has worked with a wide range of people and organizations, with particular focus on mental health/illness, youth and young adults, and housing and homelessness. 

Currently, he works with the Grand Traverse County Health Department as a Mental Health Provider and Clinical Supervisor for the Adolescent Health and Well-Being programs in Grand Traverse County, as well as owns/operates TC Counseling, where he provides individual therapy, social work supervision, marriage/relationship workshops and consulting.

He also sits on the TCAPS Health and Well-Being Committee and the MDHHS Child and Adolescent Health Center Mental Health Advisory Committee and was a part of the recent Safe Kids, Safe Schools School Violence Prevention Taskforce. 

Ty holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, and a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University.

Ty is a Traverse City native. He and his wife have four fantastic children – 3 daughters and a son. Ty enjoys running and triathlon, as well as singing and musical theater.


Elevate Northern Michigan is a quarterly summit series focused on boosting knowledge, shifting attitudes, decreasing stigma, and building support for youth mental health by learning about:

  1. psychology/neuroscience
  2. practical well-being tools
  3. leadership skills

Reservation for this mental health summit is free but required as space is limited.
