What if we designed a Traverse City that supported people in leading lives that are good for themselves and their neighbors?
I believe that starts by building abundant homes in our neighborhoods. Homes for our teachers, nurses, firefighters and other workers. Homes for our seniors and young people. Homes for those of us experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.
Clean, safe, well-designed homes of all shapes and sizes that are near opportunity – work, healthcare, school, food, childcare, parks.
More Traverse City homes = more Traverse City neighbors = a better Traverse City.
We need more homes now.
How can we get more homes on Traverse City’s 8 square miles?
- Build HomeStretch’s Lot O project
- Approve the Planning Commission’s 2022 zoning reform goals
- Put more City-owned parcels that are appropriate for housing in the pipeline
- Repeal Prop 3 because it continues to hold up ~200 new homes in lawsuits
